About our club

What is Guildhall Feoffment FC?

Our football club is for children who attend Guildhall Feoffment Primary School in Bury St Edmunds.

We are an FA-affiliated club and our training sessions are run by FA-qualified coaches, all of whom are parent/guardian volunteers.

All of our coaches must have a valid and up-to-date FA DBS Enhanced Criminal Record Check (CRC). We provide fun and inclusive training sessions for children in all year groups, from Early Years to Year 6.

When do you train?

We train each Saturday morning, during school term times, from 9.30am to 11.00am.

Where do you train?

As I’m sure you’re aware, Guildhall Feoffment does not have its own football pitches, so we currently use the pitches at Howard Primary School. We train here each week and play our home matches on the same pitches.

The address is: Howard Primary School, Beard Rd, Bury St Edmunds, IP32 6SA

Do you play matches?

Our U8 Grizzlies, U9s, U10s and U11s teams compete in the Bury St Edmunds & District Primary Schools Football League.

We also organise regular friendly matches for our Year 1 and Year 2 teams.

In the summer term, all of our teams are invited to participate in summer tournaments.

Who is welcome to join the football club?

All children who attend Guildhall Feoffment Primary School are welcome, regardless of age, experience, ability or gender.

Diversity and inclusion is a hugely important part of our football club, and we provide a great opportunity for your children to interact and socialise with other members of their school community.

Sounds great! How do we get involved?

If your child is not already a member of our football club, please email Jack Collins, Head Coach and Club Secretary here: GuildhallFeoffmentFC@gmail.com

Jack will invite you and your child along to a training session. If they enjoy the session and would like to continue attending, he will give you instructions on how to register via our password-protected online registration form.

What does my child need to bring with them to training?

Children should wear football or PE kit to training.

We play on grass pitches, so football boots are recommended, but trainers will be adequate if your child does not have boots.

Shin pads will also be required once your child decides they are going to come each week.

A water bottle marked with the child's name should also be brought along.

In the winter months, it is advisable for children to bring a coat and other appropriate winter clothing. The pitches at Howard Primary are fairly exposed, so it can get cold and windy up there from time-to-time.

We do not cancel training for wind, rain or cold temperatures! So please come prepared. Training will only be cancelled if the pitches are frozen and the playing surface is considered dangerous.

How much does it cost for my child to attend training and play in matches?

Essentially, our football club is free to attend. Inclusion is hugely important to us, so we do not want any costs to be a barrier to a player’s attendance.

We do, however, encourage our parents to contribute a suggested donation of £35 per player for the season to cover the costs of training sessions and match fees. We are conscious that many families have more than one child attending our football club, so we also suggest that parents contribute £25 per player for any additional children. This effectively acts as a “sibling discount”.

If two of your children attend, the suggested donation would be £60 in total. If three of your children attend, the suggested donation, would be £85 in total, and so on.

Once we receive your suggested donation, each player will be given a blue Adidas training shirt, which they can wear to training sessions. This will include the Guildhall Feoffment club badge and our headline sponsor’s logo on the front of the shirt.

Please note: for some of our older players who will play for teams that will compete in league matches this season, there is an opportunity to donate an extra £15 to the club to get a pair of matching Adidas shorts and socks to complete a full kit.

While Guildhall Feoffment FC is linked with Guildhall Feoffment Primary School in Bury St Edmunds, the club is not funded directly by the school.

We are an independent organisation run by parent volunteers. The cost of kits, equipment, pitch hire, FA affiliation, insurance, FA training for our coaches and everything else that goes into running the club each season can be very high, hence the reason for introducing a suggested donation.
